A couple weeks ago we took the babies to the pool for the first time. They didn't get in Grandma Betty's big pool but the did get in their baby pool and had a great time!
Ben was a little more timid about it at first but he warmed up pretty quick.
Ainsley LOVED splashing!
Ben's favorite part was playing with the mermaid! Which I have to add my cousins and I all played with when we were little!
Ainsley and Benson are eight months old! Eight months seems so "old" but it also seems like it has been a long time since I did their seven month post. They both are doing well and we are enjoying them more and more every day!
Ainsley - You are still our big girl! According to our scale at home you are around 18-19 pounds! You are sitting up really well on your own but not crawling yet. I'm guessing it won't be too long so we are enjoying this time when we can sit you down and you won't go anywhere! You are eating well still. You drink 4-6 ounces of your bottle in the morning when you wake up, between 6:30-7am. You have another 4oz bottle and fruit with oatmeal around 9:30am and a 4oz bottle and a vegetable around 1:30pm. You eat a "nutritious meal" baby food (which is like turkey and veggies) and a fruit between 4:30-5pm and another bottle at bedtime. You STILL don't have any teeth but your bottom gums are looking pretty bumpy. You still like to be held and walked around. You are starting to get mad when we take things away, like the mail you were trying to eat today. You blow raspberries when you get mad and it's pretty hilarious. You've also started finding your hair bows and pulling them down in your eyes which makes you pretty mad.
Ben - You are our happy boy! You have really turned into quite the ham lately! You smile and laugh and shake your head and fake cough/laugh. You are such a character! We are still working on sitting up on your own. You are very content wherever we put you. You usually claim the exersaucer and your sister takes the jumper. You are a great eater though green veggies aren't your favorite. You drink 4-6 ounces of your bottle in the morning when you wake up,
between 6:30-7am. You have another 4oz bottle and fruit with oatmeal
around 9:30am and a 4oz bottle and a vegetable around 1:30pm. You eat a
"nutritious meal" baby food (which is like turkey and veggies) and a
fruit between 4:30-5pm and another bottle at bedtime. You still don't have any teeth either but as much as you chew on your fingers I think you'll get some soon! You entertain us a lot and your newest "trick" is shaking your head. You shake it back and forth like you are saying "no" and Mom and Dad find it hilarious! I keep trying to catch it on video but you'll never do it for me once I get the camera out.
Ainsley and Benson are seven months old! They are really more and more fun every day. One of our favorite times with them now is first thing in the morning. Ben usually wakes up first but he doesn't cry, he just babbles in his crib. Jeremy goes down and makes bottles around 5:45am and then we go in their room to feed them. Ainsley is usually still asleep. She has started sleeping on her stomach and she tucks her legs up underneath her and sticks her butt up in the air...adorable! As soon as Ben sees you he will start smiling SO BIG, totally melts your heart!
Ainsley - you are definitely our BIG girl! At your last appointment you were 15lbs 14oz and I'm sure you are over 16 pounds now. You are eating well and have done great with baby food. You have a bottle in the morning, a small bottle and oatmeal with fruit around 9:30am, a small bottle and a vegetable around 1:30pm, cereal with a vegetable and fruit at 5:00pm, and a bottle at bedtime. There haven't really been any foods you won't eat so far. You are a good sleeper and will usually nap in the morning and afternoon and still sleep from about 8:00pm to 6:00am. You are wearing 6-9 month clothes and Size 3 diapers. You love to stand up and jump in your bouncer. You are not so much a fan of laying down, you would rather be up and able to see everything that is going on!
Benson - you are our HAPPY boy! You are almost always happy and smiley and giggly and we love it! Your last weight check was at your six month appointment but I would say you are probably about 15 & 1/2 pounds. You are longer than your sister but still pretty skinny. You are doing great with baby food. You eat and eat and love everything but peas and green beans. You make quite the funny face when we give you those! You have a bottle in the morning, a small bottle and oatmeal with fruit
around 9:30am, a small bottle and a vegetable around 1:30pm, cereal
with a vegetable and fruit at 5:00pm, and a bottle at bedtime. You don't nap very much during the day, usually only about 20 minutes at a time. You do great sleeping through the night from about 8:00pm to 6:00am. You are wearing 6-9 month clothes and Size 3 diapers. You don't want to stand up yet, you are much more content to lay around and play or sit in an exersaucer. You are so good at entertaining yourself!
We love you two so much!
Here is our 7 month video, it's a bit of a disaster!
**I never finished this post the day I started it - oops! It was written May 1st, 2012**
We had our 6 month appointment and shots today - it went very well!
Ainsley weighed in at 15lbs 5oz which puts her in the 25th percentile - woo hoo! The doctor was very happy with her weight gain. She was 25 inches long which is the 8th percentile. Her head was 17 inches which is the 65th percentile - girl's got a big head!
Ben weighed in at 14lbs 7oz which is the 2nd percentile - we're super excited he's actually on the chart now! He was 26 & 1/4 inches long which is the 18th percentile and his little head was 15 & 3/4 inches which still isn't on the chart.
We are making good progress in the growth department and will continue to fortify their milk to 24 calories. The pediatrician said we should start introducing sippy cups and puffs! How is that even possible they are old enough for those things?
Ben and Ainsley turned seven months on Friday, May 11th but we just took their pictures this morning. They were pretty squirmy and I honestly didn't get many good ones but I had to share a few that I found pretty funny, along with my own captions of course.
Ben! Why are you touching me? Stop!
Seriously, stop! I'll bite you!
I mean it, Ben!
Ainsley, why are you being so mean?
It's ok, I still love you.
I can't wait until I can really know what they are thinking! I'm sure I'll take that back when they are arguing all the time - haha!
