Bedroom Redo Inspiration

We have lived in our house for four years now and our master bedroom has been the bane of my existence for the entire four years.  Our house was the model and it already had several rooms painted.  We LOVE the paint in the entire downstairs.  But...the master bedroom had three white walls and one burgundy wall with black splatter paint.  It was ridiculous.  I wanted to paint it blue.  So we did.  I liked the color but I thought it was too dark.  Or maybe now, looking back, I like the color.  I didn't like it at the time.  So we painted it a different blue.  And I HATED it.  Last weekend we finally painted it again and I gave up on blue and went with gray.  Our neighbor Staci helped me paint because she is totally pro at painting.  I finally LOVE it!

We went with Elephant Skin but had it lightened 25% because I was worried it would be too dark.  It turned out absolutely perfect!

We did some stripes like this in our master bath.  I LOVE how they turned out!

This is the duvet cover I'm lusting after:

It is from West Elm and I've never bought anything from there before.  It isn't crazy expensive or anything but I have a "thing" about not buying things unless I have a coupon or can get free shipping or something.  I HATE paying for shipping.  So, I wait.  I've signed up for emails and I'm hoping if I'm patient I can get a coupon code.  I'll take anything.  I just CANNOT pay full price AND pay for shipping.  Anywho...

I did a DYI tufted headboard this week.  Yes, of course, I'll be sharing it later.  But for now here is the inspiration:

This was a fun/stressful/rewarding/fight with your husband project.  You know how that goes.  When we were buying the fabric at Hancock the lady that checked us out told us not to kill each other...how did she know?  (Read "how did she know" in Jim Gaffigan's whisper voice).

Here is the dresser I want from Ikea:

And my next project is making curtains.  This is the fabric:

So when the day comes that we get this whole project completed I will post pictures.  But I wouldn't advise holding your breath.  It's going to be awhile.  I am, after all, going to try to sew something - eek!

Here are a few of the inspiration pictures I pinned on Pinterest.

I can't wait until it's done!

Phone Pictures

I wanted to upload some pictures from my phone.  I've posted most of them on Facebook but wanted to have them on here too.  Hope you enjoy if you haven't seen them!

This was just this morning.  They were sitting on our bed and Ben just leaned over and fell asleep - adorable!

This was yesterday morning before they went to daycare.  They are both so happy in the morning!

We sent this picture to Daddy to let him know he had a package

This was before baths.  I'm sure they'll love these naked pictures one day - ha!

Aunt Liasa took this one while she was babysitting Ainsley last week.  I think Ainsley had a pretty great time hanging out with her aunt!

Last Tuesday Dad took Ben to PT and Ainsley and I went to Target.  It was her first time riding in the cart and she loved it!  She loved looking around so much I couldn't get her to look at me for a picture!

I love this Instagram picture of Ben - SO SWEET!

Sweet girl!

And we couldn't leave out this one.  Aunt Liasa picked out her clothes and accessories.  So fancy!

Pinterest Successes

I love Pinterest.  I've pinned all kinds of things from recipes to craft ideas to funny quotes.  Here are some of my favorites!

Cinnamon Roll Waffles

Cinnamon Roll Waffles

These were delicious!  We had them this week.  They were SO sweet.  The recipe has you thin down the icing that comes with them and use that instead of syrup but we used both - ha!

Baked Fried Chicken

BAKED FRIED CHICKEN! Tastes just like KFC! The good part....no skin & no frying! These Chicken tenders are baked and simply divine!

We had this tonight for supper!  It was good though mine didn't look as good as the picture.  It was pretty simple and sort of healthy.  Besides the half stick of butter...

Pizza Quesadillas

Pizza Quesadilllas! Less calories than regular pizza, now why didn't I think of this? Sneak some veggies in there too!

These were simple, health and delicious!  We will definitely be making these again.  We used Canadian bacon instead of pepperoni and I threw in some olives on mine.

Pan-Roasted Chicken with Lemon Garlic Green Beans

Pan-Roasted Chicken With Lemon-Garlic Green Beans

This one didn't turn out quite as good as I had hoped.  I left out the lemons in the bottom as someone in the comments suggested because it apparently made the green beans too bitter but it turned out kind of bland.  Probably won't do this one again.

Melt-In-Your Mouth Chicken

Melt in Your Mouth Chicken Breast

This one is a winner!  We tried it twice, once as the recipe says and then with some greek yogurt instead of mayo and I personally liked the greek yogurt variety better but they were both good!  We will keep this one in our rotation for sure.

Crockpot Chicken Tacos

Crockpot chicken tacos 1 envelope taco seasoning, 6 pieces boneless chicken breast, 16 oz jar of salsa. cook on high 4-6 hours

We have made these three times already and LOVE them!  We usually do tacos the first night then make nachos with the leftovers.  Oh, and they are about the easiest thing to make EVER!

Well, that's it for now.  What are your favorite "pins?"  Follow me on Pinterest!

Ben's Tooth

Ben got his first tooth!  We totally thought Ainsley would be first.  She has been fussy and drooly and chewing on her fingers.  Then last week I stuck my finger in Ben's mouth, not expecting anything, and there's a tooth in there!  He didn't complain once!  He has been chewing on his fingers like mad and slobbering all over but he didn't fuss at all.  He is so much less dramatic than his sister!

I took this video on my phone but I can't get it to rotate so sorry it's sideways!  There's a little glimpse of the tooth in there but he doesn't like to show off so he usually covers it with his tongue.

First Day at the Pool

A couple weeks ago we took the babies to the pool for the first time.  They didn't get in Grandma Betty's big pool but the did get in their baby pool and had a great time!

Ben was a little more timid about it at first but he warmed up pretty quick.

Ainsley LOVED splashing!

Ben's favorite part was playing with the mermaid!  Which I have to add my cousins and I all played with when we were little!

Love this face!

We are excited to go swimming again!

Eight Months

Ainsley and Benson are eight months old!  Eight months seems so "old" but it also seems like it has been a long time since I did their seven month post.  They both are doing well and we are enjoying them more and more every day!

Ainsley - You are still our big girl!  According to our scale at home you are around 18-19 pounds!  You are sitting up really well on your own but not crawling yet.  I'm guessing it won't be too long so we are enjoying this time when we can sit you down and you won't go anywhere!  You are eating well still.  You drink 4-6 ounces of your bottle in the morning when you wake up, between 6:30-7am.  You have another 4oz bottle and fruit with oatmeal around 9:30am and a 4oz bottle and a vegetable around 1:30pm.  You eat a "nutritious meal" baby food (which is like turkey and veggies) and a fruit between 4:30-5pm and another bottle at bedtime.  You STILL don't have any teeth but your bottom gums are looking pretty bumpy.  You still like to be held and walked around.  You are starting to get mad when we take things away, like the mail you were trying to eat today.  You blow raspberries when you get mad and it's pretty hilarious.  You've also started finding your hair bows and pulling them down in your eyes which makes you pretty mad.

Ben - You are our happy boy!  You have really turned into quite the ham lately!  You smile and laugh and shake your head and fake cough/laugh.  You are such a character!  We are still working on sitting up on your own.  You are very content wherever we put you.  You usually claim the exersaucer and your sister takes the jumper.  You are a great eater though green veggies aren't your favorite. You still don't have any teeth either but as much as you chew on your fingers I think you'll get some soon!  You entertain us a lot and your newest "trick" is shaking your head.  You shake it back and forth like you are saying "no" and Mom and Dad find it hilarious!  I keep trying to catch it on video but you'll never do it for me once I get the camera out.

We love you two so much!
